[ This is perhaps the strangest thing he's ever had to text anyone ever, but he also is aware that, in many ways, it's the most honest text he's sent in a long while.
Raleigh knows three things: one, that he adores Mako Mori and the ground she walks on; two, that she's the best instructor there is in the entirety of the Kwoon; and three, that he is hopelessly unaware of how he's going to hit her when every inch of his body tells him not to.
But challenge accepted. ]

More often than not, those preconceived notions go flying out the window as soon as their cheek hits the floor for the first time. Better watch it, Instructor Mori has been known to whisper to an opponent before stepping back with a twirl of her weapon. Raleigh's heard the line more than once. Mako wonders if he'll ever get tired of hearing it. ]

[ See this: Raleigh's feelings for Instructor Hansen is proportionally inverse to how much he thinks Ms. Mori is the sun and stars of his every waking day in the Academy. There's something about Hansen's face that ticks him off, and the way the instructor has no compunctions to be so vulgar about his peers and trainees just ticks Raleigh off like he doesn't know how.
Raleigh's never encountered anyone he's wanted to deck straight across the nose as much as he wants to deck Instructor Hansen, and it's saying something, given how much trouble the Becket brothers tend to get in. He wants to just wale on the guy, and he's fairly certain 50% of the reason is because of how close Instructor Hansen is with Ms. Mori.
He's such a jerk, why are you with him is always a question Raleigh bites his tongue on every time. ]

(What the recruits manage to muster up by way of gossip and hearsay isn't really Mako's concern. She knew the truth and Chuck knew the truth. They were too busy trying to prove other things to people to bother spending any time trying to prove to them that. ]
